Follett Awarded Massachusetts SIS/SIF Preferred Vendor Status

Follett Aspen® Student Information System already manages data for more than 405,000 students in Commonwealth.

MCHENRY, IL – Follett has once again achieved Massachusetts School Interoperability Framework (SIF) 2.7 certification and been awarded the “Certified” Student Information System (SIS) vendor designation for its Follett Aspen® SIS product. All vendors must be certified before they may secure contracts with Massachusetts districts.

Follett Aspen® SIS was selected as a web-based SIS to manage student data and information, plan for educational programs, monitor student performance, and comply with state and federal reporting requirements. Follett Aspen® SIS is a powerful, flexible SIS with a thriving user community, especially in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where it manages data for more than 405,000 students in 104 schools. The largest single account is Boston Public Schools where Follett Aspen® SIS manages data for more than 53,000 students.

“Follett is pleased to support the Executive Office of Education’s vision and strategy to implement a solution that serves the current and future needs of all education departments in the Agency while in alignment with the Commonwealth’s strategic plans,” said George Gatsis, Senior Vice President of Technology Platforms, Follett School Solutions. “Real-time state reporting via the SIF framework puts Massachusetts at the forefront of innovative student reporting, and we are excited to be able to support this vision.”

Follett Aspen® SIS has unique support for user-defined tables, as well as the ability to install Java add-ons that are shared among the user community, positioning Follett Aspen® SIS to uniquely support the education goals of its customers. Supporting the innovative real-time reporting aligns with Follett’s vision for igniting student success through content, reporting, and informed decision-making.
