Follett Destiny® Now in 23 of 25 Largest U.S. K-12 Districts

Virginia’s Fairfax County Public Schools Latest to Select Market-Leading Solution

MCHENRY, IL – With the recent adoption by Virginia’s Fairfax County Public Schools, Follett’s market-leading Follett Destiny® solution is now in 23 of the 25 largest K-12 school districts in the United States. The flagship product, Follett Destiny® Library Manager, is the leading library management system for K-12 schools worldwide and trusted by more than 65,000 customers.

Fairfax County Public Schools, based in Falls Church, Va., selected Follett Destiny® Library Manager following an extensive search for an integrated library management system to support its 234 schools and centers. With 188,000 students, Fairfax is the twelfth largest K-12 district in the country by enrollment, according to MDR Education data.

In the U.S., Destiny customers stretch from coast to coast, including:

  • New York City Department of Education
  • Philadelphia City School District
  • Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District
  • Miami-Dade County Public School District
  • Houston Independent School District
  • Clark County (Nev.) School District
  • Los Angeles Unified School District

Nader Qaimari said the key to Destiny’s longtime appeal, and what sets it apart from the competition, is its continual evolution to meet the current needs of educators and students, as well as its ability to connect the library and classroom, and stimulate collaboration.

“We’re always listening and adapting to what our customers need and request,” said Qaimari, President, Follett School Solutions. “We are experiencing great success with Follett Collections by Destiny®, which helps librarians, teachers, and curriculum staff create collaborative ways to share resources. Since Collections was unveiled, we’ve had more than 1 million users.”

The most recent Destiny addition is Classroom Ready Collections, which Qaimari noted are in response to Follett customers who wanted to grow and expand their standards-aligned instruction. Classroom Ready Collections include lesson plans, activities, videos, interactives, and worksheets that are easily searchable and discoverable within Destiny. The collections are another opportunity to share everything Destiny offers to support the classroom and instruction, Qaimari said.

Follett Destiny® Resource Manager is another popular solution in the Destiny family and helps districts and schools track and manage textbooks, band instruments, sports uniforms, technology, and much more.
