Follett Releases MyDestiny — New Digital Classroom Library

Literacy solution helps create bridge between library and classroom by delivering eBooks, educator-vetted content to students

MCHENRY, IL -  Follett today is releasing Follett MyDestiny, a digital classroom library providing educators and students in grades 3-12 unlimited, around-the-clock access to diverse eBooks, vetted resources, and learning tools with the goal of getting books in the hands of students, building background knowledge, and encouraging independent reading.

The new literacy solution gives educators the tools to instantly align content to standards, track progress and comprehension, and recommend resources wherever students need them most, whether in eLearning, remote learning, hybrid, or in-person learning.

Helping to drive student achievement and support research in one convenient place, MyDestiny is a one-stop source for:

More than 50,000 diverse, multi-user eBooks from top publishers;
More than 100,000 educator-vetted, safe resources that are continually updated; and
Around-the-clock access for educators and students anywhere.

Bill Bass, past president of the board of directors of ISTE and a pilot user of MyDestiny at Parkway Schools in Chesterfield, Mo., said he is particularly impressed the literacy solution provides teachers with the ability to use the tools to connect engaging curriculum-aligned content with learning experiences that are designed with students in mind.

“The recommendation engine is such a time saver for teachers who are looking to provide high quality, standards-aligned, digital content to students while providing them with the management tools to be able to personalize the experience for each student,” said Bass, who is innovation coordinator for instructional technology, information, library media, and federal programs for his district.

When used with market-leading Follett Destiny® Library Manager, MyDestiny will help create a bridge between the library and the classroom by integrating the unlimited educational eBooks and content students are already reading through their library.

“MyDestiny is a true literacy solution where students build background knowledge, complete teacher-assigned lessons, and engage in independent reading,” said Britten Follett, executive vice president, Follett School Solutions. “Teachers will reclaim time by easily aligning robust content with standards, and librarians will have the opportunity to be even more empowered to work alongside classroom teachers to help deliver learning best practices to students. Librarians, for example, can collaborate to provide resources and books to supplement the lessons teachers are using in MyDestiny.”

Moreover, MyDestiny seamlessly integrates with leading learning management systems such as Google Classroom and Canvas to help deliver additional literacy tools and content resources.

MyDestiny is the latest learning solution from Follett, a trusted partner for nearly 100,000 schools and more than 45 million students worldwide. PreK-12 educators have long trusted the company’s expert content, integrated technology solutions, and loyal customer support to help them reach their goals.
