Follett Introduces Key Enhancements with Destiny 17.0 Release


Destiny Discover Updates Give K-5 Students New Ways to Search, Discover Content

MCHENRY, IL – With the 2019-20 school year approaching, Follett has released Follett Destiny® 17.0, a new version of the market-leading solution featuring important enhancements to Follett Destiny® Library Manager, Follett Destiny Discover®, Follett Collections by Destiny®, and Follett Destiny® Resource Manager. Destiny solutions are used in more than 60 percent of U.S. public schools.

Follett has scheduled a “What’s Coming in Follett Destiny® 17.0” webinar, which is set for 3 p.m. EDT on Tuesday (Aug. 6).

Follett Destiny® 17.0 highlights include:

  • Follett Destiny Discover®
    New simplified themes are being introduced to help engage K-5 students to search and access content with bright colors and easier navigation. The four student-friendly theme options include space, kids outside, aquarium, and book fair. Also, new to the discovery interface are customizable homepage options for news, links, and more, as well as easy-to-see search results and clickable links.
     
  • Follett Destiny® Library Manager
    Two new enhancements will protect patron information and privacy during the self-checkout process. Plus, new options are being introduced to streamline the book check-in process at any site in the district.
     
  • Follett Destiny® Resource Manager
    A new feature will allow users to see the number of items on-hand when ordering resources from a district warehouse. Users will be able to easily order new items and ship any that are available for circulation to the requesting site.
